Callling ELK?

I was hoping it would be one of my boy who would be interested in hunting with their father. Its a guy thing right? Running around in the mountain, dressing in camo, hiking all day long, being fascinated with watching deer and elk, learning to shoot a bow & arrow, and having that thrill and excitement?? But its my 5 year old daughter who sparks that interest. Its my little girl. Its my princess. Its my child who has to wear dresses everyday. But lately, her interest has been playing with her father's elk calls. It keeps her preoccupied. It keeps her entertained every hour as she sits on her stool, blowing on these devices, and trying to perfect and correct each call. Its her father's greatest moment... grrr...

Godiva

Have you had one of those moments, where you instantly see yourself in your child's eyes? I experienced one of those moments today at Godiva. Growing up, my mom would be shopping at Liberty House (what is now Macy's) and she would buy my sisters and I a bar of Godiva - we were able to each choose our own bar. I can still remember how each piece tasted and how it savored and lingered in my mouth as it melted. And just knowing that it was good chocolate - better than the chocolate nestle bars mom would occasionally buy.
While walking in the mall, Jadeline wanted chocolate. And she specifically pointed to the Godiva store when I said there wasn't a place to buy chocolate. (SO i fibbed a little given those bars are very expensive.) But all I could see was a picture of my mom having to buy 4 chocolate bars for my sisters and I. I sighed, and walked Jadeline straight to the Godiva store. I took a big breath, looked at Jadeline, (probably like how my mom looked at my sisters and I), pointed at the chocolate bars, and said, "choose one."
When we got home, Jadeline remembered that she still had 2 pieces left of her Godiva bar. I told her I ate it!! When in fact it was still in my purse. I could not believe that all of a sudden, she started tearing and whimpering softly . . my chocolate...my chocolate. All i could see in her red, wet and upset face was myself. Her love for good chocolate like her mother. I again sighed and smiled when she ate her last 2 pieces of chocolate. I looked at Bobby and said, "she is a Corpuz!" My mother would be proud. ;)

46lbs, 44 3/4" high = 95% percentile

. . .  thats how tall and how heavy my daughter is. Jadeline had a doctor's appt today - her physical before kindergarten with the oh so many required shots she had to take.  It went well, until i asked Jade's nurse to double check her height and weight. I don't make tall babies but Jadeline is literally growing fast before my eyes!!  And then the painful part of having 4 seperate shots 2 in each arm. At first it was a mere 'ouch' to holding her breath to watery eyes to a full blown scream of tears!! It was beyond painful to watch and for half a second the thought of , "sorry baby, better you than me" whispered in my head - I know terrible mommy! But I broke down and had to make it up to her with a barbie fashion scene toy and Bratz doll. Its amazing how toys can make children forget the pain. And my pain of $15.00 worth of toys. . . .
